Agneta Eichenholz /Soprano

Agneta Eichenholz studied at the Malmö Academy of Music and Opera University College in Stockholm and has since her international breakthrough at the Verbier Festival in 2007 quickly established herself as a leading lyric soprano. She has been engaged at such opera houses as Covent Garden (London), Teatro Real (Madrid), Teatro del Liceu (Barcelona), Komische Oper (Berlin), Oper Frankfurt, Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Düsseldorf), the Royal Theatre (Copenhagen) and Gothenburg Opera. Her broad opera repertoire include the roles of Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Lucio Cinna (Lucio Silla), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Alcina (Händel), Violetta (La Traviata), Norina (Don Pasquale), Gilda (Rigoletto), Laul (L'Etoile), and Juliette (Roméo et Juliette).

With the title role in Alban Berg's Lulu Agneta made her sensational Covent Garden debut in spring 2009, conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Christof Loy. Other conductors she worked with are, amongst others, Ivor Bolton, Peter Eötvös, Nicholas McGegan, Kristjan Järvi, Eliahu Inbal, Gunther Neuhold, Peter Dijkstra and Henrik Schaefer.

In addition to her growing opera career Agneta is also a popular concert and oratorio singer and has sung with most of Sweden's orchestras. Recent and upcoming engagements for Agneta include Verdi’s Requiem in Stockholm and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with Orchestre National de Radio France and conductor Myung-Whun Chung in Paris.
