Karolina Andersson /Soprano

The swedish soprano Karolina Andersson was educated at the Academy of Music and Drama, Göteborg University, where she graduated in 2007. Karolina has sung the roles Queen of the Night Die Zauberflöte, Gilda Rigoletto, Ninetta in Rossini's La gazza ladra, Governess The Turn of the Screw by Britten, Blonde Die Enführung aus dem Serail, Miss Wordsworth in Britten’s Albert Herring, La Stonatrilla L'opera seria by F. L. Gassmann and two world premieres; Annette in Faust (Philippe Fénelon) and Ophelia in Hamlet (Christian Jost).

2007-2009 Karolina was a member of the ensemble at Komische Oper in Berlin. She has also performed at Staatsoper Berlin, Opéra national de Paris, Théâtre du Capitol Toulouse, The Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, GöteborgsOperan, Drottningholms Slottsteater, Läckö Slottsopera and others. Karolina is frequently engaged as a soloist in concerts and oratorios. She has received scholarships from for example, the Royal Swedish Music Academy and The Sten A Olsson foundation for Research and Culture.

Future engagements for 2011-2012 include Gilda at Komische Oper Berlin, Queen of the Night at Staatstheater Kassel, Volksoper Wien and GöteborgsOperan and Graziella in Detlev Glanert’s Joseph Süß at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich.
