We are proud to announce that the German magazine Opernwelt has nominated Susanna Levonen ”singer of the year 2011":
The ace in the ensemble is undoubtedly the young Susanna Levonen, whose voice combines a full mezzo timbre with a secure soprano height. Which are optimal conditions for a Sieglinde. One can hardly believe that this singer just sang Amneris in Antwerp the day before, when even “Oh hehrstes Wunder” is sung with such a rich voice. Both parts seem perfect for her right now. She is unmistakably moving towards the dramatic soprano repertoire. This fall, Susanna Levonen will sing Alban Berg’s Marie for the first time. Even this part should suit her well. She has sung Salome in Germany before. It shouldn’t be the last time.

We congratulate young mezzo soprano Josefine Andersson for receiving the Jenny Lind scholarship 2012! In the near future, Josefine will be performing Sextus in Handel’s Julio Cesare at the Folkoperan in Stockholm
