Mats Rondin

In Memoriam

With great sadness and dismay we received the news of Mats Rondin's sudden death after suffering a heart attack during a tour with Piteå Church Opera.

Mats was undoubtedly one of his generation's foremost Scandinavian
cellists and conductors and was greatly loved by audiences, musicians and promoters, as well as in the role of professor.

He will long be renowned for his far-reaching and passionate relationship to music as well as his warm and engaging personality. He now leaves a big gap in both the Swedish and the international music scene. Our thoughts are with Mats' family.
